Providing expert maintenance services to multiple industries has been a key part of our business since 1972. It can be a complex and risky job, and we stand by our commitment to deliver services safely, to the right standard, on budget and on time.

Our Nelson facilities are a great base from which to service both local and nationwide customers. With years of experience providing specialist maintenance services to nationwide customers, often in remote and hostile locations, we’ve had ample opportunity to refine our skills in mobilising people and plant. Our multi-skilled fabrication team provides a range of steel services to diverse industries.

Projects large and small have been completed from our dedicated fabrication workshop in Nelson. We also have experience working at customer sites nationwide.

Just some examples of our specialist fabrication work are shared below:

  • Fabrication of structural elements for buildings, seismic upgrades and industrial plant.
  • Fabrication projects including the supply and install of structural steel for the new Nelson Airport terminal.
  • Fabrication projects on The Buffalo, Holcim’s cement carrier.
  • Fabrication and installation of thermal oil pipes and pipe bridges and other processing equipment for the timber industry.

When you engage our project managers you will also have access to our inhouse designers and estimators, so your project will be in the safest of hands from start to finish. The availability of our other skilled teams including fitters, machinists and certified pipe welders also creates opportunity for bundled solutions when required.

We create, copy or repair existing parts helping customers save money, shelf space and hassle. We have the flexibility to offer small or large production runs, and can provide one off prototypes on demand. Stuck for a part? Our 3D modelling and designers can help.

Our machine shop is geared to deliver just what you need using a range of specialist tools and equipment:

  • A CNC milling machine that’s state of the art and guarantees a high quality finished product
  • A range of universal manual milling machines including slotting head
  • A range of manual lathes capable of turning up 1.5m swing
  • Internal keyway broaching
  • A metalspray torch

Our highly experienced pipe welding team are certified to various ASME IX standards and welding procedures to cover many industries and environments.

Our years of training, multiple tickets and procedures provide reassurance that complex, intricate work will be completed to the highest of standards. This commitment is backed up with our extensive QA, ISO and H&S standards that help manage customer risk on every job – no matter how big or small.
